Man Utd planning to sign three marquee players this summer

Manchester United are planning to sign three marquee players during the 2026 summer transfer window, according to David Ornstein.
The Red Devils had a quiet winter transfer window. They decided against making a purchase after parting ways with manager Ruben Amorim.
Michael Carrick has been brilliant as an interim manager with three straight wins, but United are undecided over handing him the permanent role.
Ornstein has now revealed that the Red Devils could make three marquee purchases in the summer, starting with a new defensive midfielder.
A centre-back could be signed if Harry Maguire leaves. The Englishman's current contract expires on June 30 and no renewal is planned.
A left-sided winger could be recruited too with the change to a 4-2-3-1 system set to remain permanent if they appoint another manager.
Aside from three marquee recruits, the club could also enter the transfer market for a backup goalkeeper with Altay Bayindir set to depart.
Man Utd are currently fourth in the league table with 41 points.
