Liverpool ready to battle Arsenal for Sandro Tonali

Liverpool could go head-to-head with Arsenal to purchase Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali at the end of the campaign.
The Italy international has been a key player for the Magpies, but he could push for a new challenge if they don't qualify for the Champions League next season.
His agent was in contact with the Gunners on deadline day this winter and there is a possibility that Arsenal could make a move in the next transfer window.
However, the Gunners are not alone in the race for the former Milan star. Liverpool are monitoring his situation too and could seek to bring him to Anfield.
The Magpies signed the 25-year-old for £55 million from the Rossoneri in 2023, and they are expected to demand at least £100 million to sanction his sale.
Arsenal are in a strong position to land him ahead of Liverpool, given they are on course to qualify for the Champions League with a top-four/five league finish.
Liverpool are presently sixth in the table and four points behind Chelsea. The Anfield giants may have to win the Champions League to return to the competition.
