Chelsea lining up approach for new striker

Chelsea are expected to enter the transfer market for a new striker this summer following the struggles of Liam Delap.

The Blues signed Joao Pedro and Delap last summer and the former has been a revelation for the London giants leading the line.

The same can't be said about the latter. Delap has netted just two goals from 33 appearances for the Premier League heavyweights.

The Blues are already preparing to part ways with him. Newcastle United are ready to make a renewed approach for the Englishman.

Amidst this, Chelsea have started their hunt for a replacement and prefer someone young, who has valuable European experience.

Bayer Leverkusen's Christian Kofane has captured their eye with his performances this term, but he won't come on the cheap.

The Cameroonian striker is also on the radar of Premier League rivals Arsenal and could cost at least 50 million pounds, as per Sky Sport Germany. He is open to pursuing a bigger challenge.
