The Spanish giants are in need of a striker and it seems that Klass-Jan Huntelaar is their new target. The Ajax striker has already mentioned that he would love to join a top club in Europe.

Huntelaar is a deadly striker and have scored 64 goals in 75 matches for Ajax since joining them in 2006.He is in blazing form and have netted 27 goals this season.

Los Merengues are in need of an attacking man upfront as Ruud van Nistelrooy is being sidelined for sometime. The club's director Predrag Mijatovic is reportedly interested in the 24-year old dutchman.

Huntelaar's contract runs until 2010 it doesn't seem that Ajax need to offload him. But he has already made it clear that he would love new challenges and a top club in Europe will be where he want to play. "Lots of factors play a role here - what will Ajax do? What club will come in for me, and when? " he said.

"Everyone wants to sign for the sort of club that plays to their strengths," he explained. "So, I'd like an offensive side that operates in the opponent's box a lot. And I want it to be a top team. I wouldn't leave Ajax in the lurch for anything less."

The new Ajax boss, Marco van Basten had adviced him to move on to a top club some time ago and now he wants Huntelaar to stay.

"

When I last talked to him it was in his capacity as Dutch national team boss, and he said that it would be best for my development if I made a move to a top club. Now, I speak to him in his position as Ajax boss, and things are different. He wants me to stay."

Klass-Jan Huntelaar had been a Manchester United target last season and he stil remains top in the shopping list of AC Milan, Chelsea and Roma. It's said that a bid of around 20M pounds would be needed to prise him away from the Godenzonen.
