Tottenham boss Juande Ramos has revealed he is hoping to sign some big players this summer - but it is all depending on his transfer budget. Spurs have been linked with a host of players including Luka Modric and Espanyol goalkeeper Idriss Kameni.

"It comes down to budgets at the end of the day," he said. "Budgets have a lot to do with this. The four teams involved in the final stages of the Champions League have the highest budgets.

"Therefore, they are able to buy the best star players, they have the best options to buy those players.

"We need to buy the best players," he added. "Now and then there can be a team that can break into those four as a surprise but it's very difficult and it all comes down to budget."
