Man Utd turn attention to signing Colombian star

Manchester United have turned their attention to signing Colombian defender Jhon Lucumi from Bologna, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

The Red Devils are expected to land a new centre-back in the summer transfer window and they are currently looking at different options.

According to TMW, Lucumi has emerged as one of their transfer targets and it is claimed that he could leave for as little as €20 million.

The 25-year-old is a left-footed central defender, but he has operated from the right centre-back role for the Serie A outfit this campaign.

His ability to play in both central defensive positions is a boost for the Red Devils, who have been plagued by injuries in the department.

Lisandro Martinez has picked up multiple setbacks since his arrival from Ajax while Raphael Varane has been vulnerable to niggles.

Varane could be heading for the exit door this summer with his contract expiring in June. The club have not opened talks over a renewal.
