Arsenal to battle Man City to sign Algerian star?

Arsenal could go head-to-head with Manchester City in the race to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri this summer.

The Algerian has developed into one of the best full-backs in the Premier League and he has operated from the inverted role under manager Gary O'Neil.

His progress has caught the eye of the Gunners and Cityzens and Mirror claim that the duo could battle it out for his signature when the transfer window reopens.

Wolves are in a much better financial position compared to last summer and they still have the chance to end the season in the top half of the Premier League.

Hence, they don't face the pressure to sell their prized asset, but it is claimed that a package of around £50 million could tempt them to cash in on him.

Arsenal are currently searching for a permanent solution at left-back. They have tried Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior and Takehiro Tomiyasu in the role.

Jurrien Timber started the campaign from the position but he lasted only 45 minutes before suffering a serious knee injury. Ait-Nouri could be their solution.
