Arsenal make offer for Felipe Melo?

08 July 2011 - 09:02

Arsenal are preparing an offer for Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo as soon as Cesc Fabregas quits the club. The Brazilian midfielder was linked with a move to the Emirates back in 2009, but opted to join Juventus. He is unhappy in Turin and ready to quit immediately. Twitter

  • Man Utd expecting €80m boost with double player sale
  • Confirmed Liverpool line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Galatasaray, Salah starts
  • Melo is valued at around 8m GBP by Juventus, the same fee that they paid for him when the Brazilian joined from Fiorentina. Melo has over 20 caps for Brazil.

Last season at Juventus he was being linked with a move to Liverpool, but this season the Reds have moved for Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson already.

However, the player himself is desperate to leave, saying last week: "Let us say that Juve are not respecting me, or at least that's the impression I get. I'm not just anyone. I'm not a bargaining chip to be used to reach anybody."
