Wolves are close to completing a transfer deal with Birmingham City defender Roger Johnson. The transfer fee mentioned totals £7.25 million, with £5 million up front and £2.25 million dependent on Wolves' success next season.
Johnson had been linked with a host of clubs in England, including Tottenham and Sunderland, however it seems that Wolves have won the race to land the player.
Mick Mccarthy has already added Jamie O'Hara to his squad on a permanent basis, and the signing of Roger Johnson will surely signal Wolves' intent to stay in the top flight for the 2011/2012 Premier League season.
Roger Johnson is believed to be in Birmingham today, meeting Wolves officials and to discuss personal terms.
