Stoke warn Liverpool over Shawcross approach

Stoke warn Liverpool over Shawcross approach

18 August 2011 - 20:16

Stoke City boss is not willing to listen to any offers from Liverpool for Ryan Shawcross. There had been talk that Liverpool may offer 12m GBP for the England international centre back.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd set to hold contract talks with experienced star
  • However, it appears that Tony Pulis has no interest in letting his star man leave: "We have got no need to sell Ryan. We want to spend money if we can. I think the chairman and the board have made it quite clear that their intentions are to try to improve the squad this year.

"We are very pleased with the defenders we've got, now we have to improve our midfield and forward line."

Stoke have already secured the signings of Jonathan Woodgate and Matthew Upson this summer; whilst Robert Huth is also an important member of their squad.
