Everton set sights on Benteke

Everton set sights on Benteke

21 August 2011 - 08:08

Everton have been monitoring young Belgian forward Christian Benteke. The Standard Liege striker has been watched by Toffees' scouts in recent weeks, who are impressed with the powerful player.

  • Arne Slot confirms big Liverpool injury blow
  • Bournemouth close to signing Chelsea defender?

  • Benteke has a contract that expires in 2013 in Liege, but the club are ready to let the player leave if a 5m GBP offer is made.

Benteke said of a potential move to England: "I want a move and I want to play in the Premier League one day.

"Everton are a very big club but I'm not aware of their interest. But it is flattering once you hear things like that.

"I can score goals in the Premier League and would love that to happen very quickly."
