Arsenal's derisory offer for Cahill rejected

Despite earlier reports that Arsenal have bid 18m GBP for Bolton defender Gary Cahill; there are fresh rumors that the Gunners have in fact only bid 7m GBP for the centre back, with an extra 4m GBP depending on appearances.

It appears that stories Cahill would be joining Arsenal prior to the end of the transfer window are somewhat far from the truth, as Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has tabled an offer that is nowhere near Owen Coyle's valuation of the English defender.



The Gunners are scouring Europe for another centre back for their squad, and Cahill had been the favorite to join Arsenal alongside Birmingham centre back Scott Dann.
