Carlton Cole staying put despite Stoke bid

27 August 2011 - 06:26

West Ham striker Carlton Cole has revealed that an offer to move to Stoke City was accepted by his club; but he decided to stay put in London at the Hammers.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • Tony Pulis is a big fan of Cole, and made an offer of 6m GBP for the 27 year old.

Cole said: “I know a fee got accepted. The position West Ham were in means I’m one of the saleable assets and they had to accept.

“But it was down to me and I didn’t really want to move. It wasn’t best for me and my family to go up North.

“I’ll think about what’s on offer but I’m scoring goals and I’m happy where I am.”
