Redknapp admits Tottenham star still unsettled

Redknapp admits Tottenham star still unsettled

29 August 2011 - 05:55

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has sensationally hit out at Chelsea for their latest approach for Luka Modric, and admits that the Croatian is still unsettled at White Hart Lane.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town
  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal

  • Modric played in the 5-1 defeat to Man City at White Hart Lane; and the Croatian visited Harry Redknapp to say that he wasn't sure if he should play as he didn't feel comfortable.

“I played Luka today but his head’s not right again.

“He came to see me at 12pm today, probably 11.30am, and he told me he didn’t feel his head was right. I told him he needed to play. I had injuries in midfield, Tom Huddlestone’s not fit and we needed him to play. He’s our main man.’

“His head’s been turned. It’s probably been turned again last night. We all know what goes on in the game. Anyone who thinks he’s not being told what’s going on is dreaming.

“Something happened last night, I don’t know what. He was OK to play yesterday (Saturday) morning and then all of a sudden he wasn’t.

“Chelsea… they can come and try to take your best players off you. I needed him to play. I think, at the moment, while he still sees a chink of light to go to Chelsea, he’s probably doing what he’s being told is the best idea to get to Chelsea.’"
