Gilles Sunu leaves Arsenal permanently

31 August 2011 - 15:39

Gilles Sunu has completed a permanent move from Arsenal to Lorient. The striker has agreed a three year contract with the French club.

  • Arne Slot confirms big Liverpool injury blow
  • Bournemouth close to signing Chelsea defender?

  • Lorient have paid a reported 1.25m GBP for Gilles Sunu, who is very highly rated in France.

Sunu spent five years with Arsenal but failed to make the breakthrough into the first team.

"I've just signed a four-year deal with Lorient. My main aim was to join Lorient so that I can play," he said.

"If I get to play up front I hope to score ten goals this season. If I'm on the wing, hopefully I'll score a few goals and help create others."
