Bolton love Bayern draw

Bolton love Bayern draw

09 October 2007 - 21:32

Bolton's chairman Phil Gartside has welcomed their UEFA Cup draw with German giants Bayern Munich. Red Star Belgrade, Braga and Aris Salonika make up the rest of the UEFA Cup group.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • He told Sky Sports News: "Being greedy you want to play Bayern Munich at home, because you get a better TV deal from broadcasters.

"When you're playing a second-rate team from Macedonia and 20,000 people turn up it probably spells out that people are interested.

"We all said Bayern Munich in the group would be fantastic, so we're all very happy."

Gartside believes facing Bayern could provide a major boost to the Trotters' flagging season under new manager Sammy Lee.

"We've had a tough start," he added.

"You're looking for signs and things which might start your season off and this could be a great fillip for everybody."
