Stoke City have high hopes for Crouch

10 September 2011 - 03:00

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis is confident that new signing Peter Crouch will be an important player for his new club this season. Crouch joined from Tottenham for 12m GBP on transfer deadline day.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • There are rumours that Crouch is very unhappy at the prospect of moving away from London to Stoke, and his wife Abby Clancy has also reportedly decided to stay in London.

However Pulis remains certain Crouch will be an important asset: "Peter is a fantastic kid, very down to earth.

"I spoke to Peter and he is looking for property up here, and I think his wife was up looking with him.

"As long as he comes along, trains well, works hard and then does it on a Saturday, we will be absolutely delighted."
