Real eyeing Eden Hazard

Real eyeing Eden Hazard

01 October 2011 - 08:14

Belgian news daily De Standaard claims that Real Madrid have their eyes on Lille starlet Eden Hazard.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • Hazard has been one of Lille's best players and was pivotal in their 2010-11 league and cup double. His efforts led to him being voted the UNFP Ligue 1 Player of the Year, becoming the youngest player to win the award.

The 20-year-old is now looked upon as one of the hottest talents in Europe and was coveted by Arsenal, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

Real Madrid director of football Zinedine Zidane claimed in an interview last year that the Belgian was one for the future.

“Eden Hazard is a future expert,” ‘Zizou’ told Marca. “He is very good and will become even better.”

However, agreeing a deal may prove difficult, with Lille president Michel Seydoux holding out for a sum in the region of €35 million.
