Ranieri banned for one match

04 October 2011 - 10:49

Inter Milan boss Claudio Ranieri has received a one match ban after insulting the referee in the home loss to Napoli.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Ranieri was not the only one to be punished, as the Italian Football Federation came down hard upon Inter.

Ivan Cordoba and Diego Milito were both fined €10,000 for disrespectful comments to the referee at the end of the match.

Captain Javier Zanetti was fined €1,500 for the events that unfolded during the match. Additionally, the club were fined €8,000 for the poor behaviour of their supporters.

Inter are in a small crisis, having picked up only four points in their opening five games of the season. They have also changed their coach, with Gian Piero Gasperini being sacked just two weeks ago.
