Robin van Persie committed to Gunners

Robin van Persie committed to Gunners

16 October 2011 - 15:37

After Robin van Persie had sold his house in London, many believed that the Gunners captain would be leaving Arsenal in the near future. But the Dutchman used Twitter to laugh off suggestions he was heading for the exit door.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • Instead, van Persie used Twitter to announce that he had sold his old house, and has purchased a new one in London.

Arsenal's captain scored both goals as the Gunners won 2-1 at Sunderland on Sunday, and Gunners fans will be happy with the show of commitment.

"I am committed to Arsenal, and that's how it is, despite people making up such stories. I see stories which make me laugh, but I can see how frustrating it is from the fans' point of view," van Persie said.

"But I am committed to Arsenal. I am captain, and fans should not believe everything they read.

"As for that house story, the house has been for sale for a while, but I'm not living on the streets or anything, I have found a really nice house, and yes, it's in London! So I want to put that straight, I am committed, and I will show that on the pitch."
