Tottenham on alert as Montolivo talks break down

Tottenham are on red alert as Riccardo Montolivo has been told by Fiorentina that he will not be allowed to leave the club in January, so the Italian will leave once his contract expires next summer.

Arsenal had made an offer for Montolivo last summer but failed to agree a fee with Fiorentina for the 26 year old.



It was expected that Arsenal would make another bid in January, however that has been denied by a Fiorentina club representative, who insits Montolivo will be important this year: "I don't think that Montolivo will go in January."



Now it appears that Tottenham are the newest club to have shown an interest in the Italian star.
