Aston Villa want to sign 22 year old right back Dennis Diekmeier from Hamburg in January, but face serious competition from Roma for the former VfB Stuttgart man.
Diekmeier has represented Germany's national teams at every youth level, but is desperate to progress into the full national team. A move to the Premier League has been advised by his representatives.<br />
According to reports, Aston Villa scouts have been tracking the right back for 3 weeks and are impressed with what they have seen, and could make a 4.5m GBP offer come January.
