Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini would love to make a move for Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi, but ruled out making a transfer switch for the player in January.
De Rossi's contract at Roma expires next summer, and Mancini's comments suggest that the Italian international will put pen to paper on a new deal in Rome.
"It's difficult to lure a Roman footballer and a Roma fan away from Roma. I wouldn't be surprised if he were to renew his contract," said Mancini.
City were linked with an 18m GBP move for the midfielder during the summer, but a bid for the 28 year old did not materialize.
