Adebayor open to Tottenham switch

Adebayor open to Tottenham switch

24 November 2011 - 08:08

Tottenham's on-loan striker Emmanuel Adebayor revealed a permanent move to White Hart Lane could still be on the cards, but told the London side to put up the money to secure his switch from Man City.

  • Chido Obi to leave Man Utd on loan
  • Chelsea star suffers hamstring injury on international duty
  • At this point in time, Spurs cannot afford the reported 150,000 GBP per week salary that the former Togo international earns.

Instead, Spurs can only pay Adebayor around 85,000 GBP per week due to their salary structure.

Adebayor has been in sensational form this year for Spurs though, scoring two goals on Monday night to secure victory over Aston Villa. That form has Harry Redknapp weighing up a permanent move for the former Arsenal forward.

Adebayor revealed: "We all play football to get money.

"I have to give something back to my community and I will keep doing this until the end of my career.

"I will leave it to Spurs and Manchester City to find a solution between themselves.

"For me, what is important is to enjoy myself on the pitch."
