Birmingham City defender Curtis Davies has been linked with a move back to the Premier League, and is currently waiting to hear from his agents regarding a move to Wigan.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • According to reports, Wigan are set to spend big money in the January transfer window as they look to retain their Premier League status. Curtis Davies is on the shortlist of manager Roberto Martinez.

"I'd like to think I could be one of the best defenders in the division," said Davies.

"But I don't feel I've got much to prove at this level — that's the reason I want to get back to the Premier League. I still have a bit to prove there."

Blackburn and Swansea are also interested in the centre back.
