Trapattoni to sign new Ireland deal

Giovanni Trapattoni will put pen to paper on a new deal with the Football Association of Ireland this week, and that deal will extend his stay as coach until the 2014 World Cup.

  • Trapattoni has demonstrated his top quality abilities as a manager and has transformed Ireland's form in recent months, and he will be rewarded with a fresh deal.<br />

    The 72 year old will sign a contract worth around 5m Euros over two season this week.<br />

    "We have agreed in principle and everything is going forward but it is not signed," Trapattoni told the Sunday Independent.
