Giovanni Trapattoni will put pen to paper on a new deal with the Football Association of Ireland this week, and that deal will extend his stay as coach until the 2014 World Cup.
Trapattoni has demonstrated his top quality abilities as a manager and has transformed Ireland's form in recent months, and he will be rewarded with a fresh deal.
The 72 year old will sign a contract worth around 5m Euros over two season this week.
"We have agreed in principle and everything is going forward but it is not signed," Trapattoni told the Sunday Independent.
