Chelsea suffer big injury blow ahead of Man Utd game

Chelsea have suffered a big injury blow ahead of the Premier League clash against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Blues recently bowed out of the Carabao Cup following a penalty shoot-out loss to Liverpool in the fourth round at Anfield.

In the same game, centre-back Maxence Lacroix was substituted before the the half-time break after he was clutching his left thigh.

Speaking after the defeat, Blues manager Xabi Alonso confirmed that the Frenchman will be sidelined after a hamstring injury.

Lacroix has been a vital player for the Blues in the heart of the defence, and he has started every game this campaign except one.

His absence in the central defensive department is a huge blow for the Blues, who have now suffered back-to-back losses.

United are on an eight-match winless streak heading to the Bridge, but will be aiming to capitalise on the injury to secure a victory.

The Red Devils did the double over the Blues last term.
