Blackburn quiet on transfer targets

Blackburn quiet on transfer targets

30 November 2011 - 08:07

Blackburn manager Steve Kean remains quiet on his plans for the January transfer window. It is understood that Rovers' owners Venky's have told Kean that he has a transfer budget of approximately 15m GBP for new players.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Rovers have been linked with several players in January, but Kean wants to keep his cards close to his chest.

Steve Kean said: “I wouldn’t like to speculate or comment on any names at this stage because it would be unfair to any player.

“We’ll just do our business on the private side. There’s a few on the list and I’m sure that we’ll be linked to a number of players.

“What I’d like to do is get a couple of bodies in and get them in early because we don’t want it to drag on until the tail end of the window.

Confirming he now knew his budget, he said: “Yes, but I’ll be keeping that away from other clubs.

“I’ve got a list, I’ll be speaking to the owners in the next three or four days, and we’re looking to bring in some fresh faces and some quality in the window.”
