Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has admitted that Lionel Messi is far too important a player for the club, and that the Argentine attacker will never be sold whilst he is in charge.
Messi is arguably the finest footballer of his generation, and helped Barcelona to the Champions League title last year.
"Certainly it will never happen as long as I am president", said Rosell when asked whether Messi could ever be sold.
"Here there are many things that are not for sale and one of them is Messi."
