Preview: QPR vs West Brom

Preview: QPR vs West Brom

03 December 2011 - 10:18

If this game has a winner, the victor will move up into the top 10 of the Premier League at a crucial time as we head into Christmas. Both teams have had problems of their own this year, with WBA struggling with an injury list and QPR's erratic - and at times shocking - form.

  • Chelsea eyeing part-exchange deal to sign Osimhen
  • Chelsea & Arsenal handed blow in Bundesliga striker pursuit

  • Last weekend QPR manager Neil Warnock will feel hard done by as Rangers slumped to a 2-1 defeat against Norwich, courtesy of some appalling refereeing decisions. Meanwhile West Brom were well beaten by an impressive Tottenham team last weekend.

The big battles in this match today will be in midfield. QPR's Joey Barton has reassured Rangers fans after the club took a risk on his signing, thanks to some strong displays in the middle of midfield. Meanwhile West Brom have the impressive Mulumbu, who will be hoping to halt any threat from Rangers' defence.

West Brom have a terrible record when visiting London, winning just three of their last 30 games in the capital.

    TEAMS

Radek Cerny takes the place of Paddy Kenny, who struggles with a muscular injury. Shaun Wright Phillips is expected to miss out, but QPR can call on Joey Barton who returns from suspension.

West Brom lost Zoltan Gera to a long term injury last weekend, and Shane Long could also miss out today.
