Arsenal chairman happy to wait for RvP

Arsenal chairman happy to wait for RvP

15 December 2011 - 13:20

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood admitted that Robin van Persie is currently in no rush to discuss terms on a new contract; but the Gunners supremo admitted that the club are also prepared to wait for the Dutchman.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • "I think Robin wants to stay. He seems very happy," Peter Hill-Wood told the Daily Star.

"Nothing has been discussed, though it is obvious we want him to stay. He doesn't want to talk about a contract now and that's fine with us."

Manchester City are amongst the clubs closely monitoring the Dutchman's situation at Arsenal, and could swoop for the striker once his contract expires in 2013.
