The 28-year old full back, Paul Verhaegh, signed a new contract with FC Augsburg to remain with the club until 2013. He joined the club from Vitesse Arnheim in 2010.
Verhaegh was rumoured to leave the club in the end of the season as his contract was set to expire. He was an integral part of the Augsburg team that got promoted to the top-flight recently.
He commented that "We will do our best to remain in the top division at the end of this season."
