Victor Wanyama wants Celtic stay

03 January 2012 - 18:18

Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama wants to stay at Scottish giants Celtic, despite talk of interest from Premier League sides. Wanyama completed a 1m GBP move from Germinal Beerschot last year.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • A number of excellent displays has seen several top European sides watch the player in action, but the midfielder wants to stay in Scotland for the time being.

"Why would I be thinking of leaving? This is my home." said Wanyama.

"I am very happy here, I only came in the summer and I am enjoying my football and my life. I have worked very hard to learn the pace of the game in Scotland and to settle in and I feel that is showing on the pitch.

"Celtic is a huge club and I knew that before I came here. I am really enjoying it, the fans have been very good to me and the club has been very good to me.''
