Michael Ballack to quit Leverkusen

07 January 2012 - 17:16

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Michael Ballack has admitted that he is to quit the BayArena in the summer, once his contract with the club expires. The former German international is expected to receive offers from Greece and Turkey.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Greek side Panathinaikos are both being linked with an early move for the former Chelsea midfielder.

The 35 year old admitted a move away from Leverkusen will be completed in the summer: "I signed on here for two years and it was clear for both parties from the very beginning that it was only planned for this period of time. I then intended to do something different.

''I am not going to give up playing altogether."
