Sunderland and Tottenham to agree shock loan swap?

11 January 2012 - 08:21

A report on Wednesday morning suggested that Sunderland and Tottenham are in discussions regarding a season long loan swap deal between Connor Wickham and Steven Pienaar.

  • Chelsea urged to sign Man City star on free transfer
  • Chelsea squad want Xabi Alonso as manager
  • It is understood that Spurs manager Harry Redknapp is concerned that he does not have enough strikers to compete for the whole season, whilst Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill is also a big fan of South African international Steven Pienaar.

The surprise loan swap could take place as soon as next week, as the two clubs have already been locked in discussions for over two weeks regarding Pienaar's transfer status.
