Robbie Keane will today complete a two month loan move from LA Galaxy to Aston Villa. The Irish international striker will spend time on loan at Villa Park as a temporary forward for Alex McLeish.
International team mate and Aston Villa keeper Shay Given is understandably delighted to hear the news: âItâs great for Villa to secure a player of Robbieâs calibre, even in the short-term,â Given told reporters.
âI didnât know how fit he was before the last couple of days in training but he looks really sharp, to be honest. Weâre all delighted that heâs here and I think heâs just given the whole dressing room a lift.
âHeâs a big personality and heâs a big-game player. I think even in training the lads have been very impressed with what theyâve seen. I think itâs a great boost to have him on board.
âSome of the young lads here can learn from a guy like Robbie Keane, itâs fantastic for them. I think the younger players will look up to him and learn from him. Not only that, heâs only 31, so heâs quite young really."
