Swiss international midfielder Granit Xhaka is a shock target for Premier League champions Man Utd, with Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly impressed with Xhaka's performances for Basel during their matches with United in the Champions League this year.

According to reports from Switzerland, Sir Alex Ferguson has been seriously considering a 4 million GBP offer for the Serbia-born midfielder, who has been with Basel since the age of 10.<br />

Xhaka made his debut for Switzerland against England over six months ago, and has since become a first team regular for his country.<br />

United are expected to make an offer for the 19 year old this month, and hope to conclude a deal for Xhaka during the summer.
