Tottenham extend Pavlyuchenko contract

24 January 2012 - 01:17

Tottenham have extended the contract of Russian international Roman Pavlyuchenko for another year. The former Spartak Moscow man had a clause in his contract that allowed Spurs to renew for another year in the final year of his deal.

  • His former club Spartak and ambitious Russian side Anzhi have been chasing Pavlyuchenko, but appear to have missed out on the 30 year old.

"Tottenham, headed by chairman and owner Daniel Levy, had the option of extending his contract, and they have done so," Pavlyuchenko's agent Oleg Artemov said.

"They informed UEFA, FIFA and the English FA that they have extended the contract by a year. This happened about two or three months ago and so this is already old news."
