Liverpool deny they are closing in on Jelavic

24 January 2012 - 08:30

Liverpool have denied reports that they have moved a step closer to completing a move for Croatian international striker Nikica Jelavic. The Rangers frontman has been linked with a move to England for over two months.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Yesterday, Nikica Jelavic's agent and father, Philip, insisted that Liverpool were leading the race for his signature.

However, it seems that Jelavic has not yet opened talks with any clubs; as there have yet to have been any offers for the Rangers frontman.

Rangers are looking to recoup around 6 million GBP if they decide to part ways with the forward.
