Wilfried Zaha is top target for Bolton

29 January 2012 - 10:18

Bolton Wanderers' manager Owen Coyle has stepped up his interest in Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha. Since Palace slumped out of the Carling Cup to Cardiff Citty during midweek, Coyle has been plotting a transfer move for the highly rated 19-year-old.

 • Chelsea suffer big injury blow ahead of Everton game
 • Enzo Fernandez refuses to rule out Chelsea exit
 • Born in the Ivory Coast, Zaha spent his youth career playing for the famed ASEC Mimosas, a club that has produced the likes of Emmanuel Eboue and Kolo Toure. In 2007, Zaha put pen to paper on a youth contract at Selhurst Park and has since forced his way into the first team for Palace.
Last year, Zaha also received his first call up for the England under 19 squad and has pledged his footballing allegiances to his adopted homeland of England.
Bolton manager Owen Coyle admitted today that he will be making a move for the teenage hot shot. Coyle revealed: "I think there's players out there, and Zaha is certainly one of them, that I think would enhance our club for years to come on a permanent basis, and there are one or two on a loan capacity I'd love to bring in before the deadline on Tuesday.
"If it transpires then great, but it won't stop me targeting good, young players to bring to this football club that I think I can develop and make better, and that's what I'm trying to do."
