Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made it clear that Viktor Gyokeres is staying at the club this summer.
The Swede signed for the Gunners from Sporting CP last summer after a lengthy transfer saga which lasted for almost two months.
Gyokeres had a slow start to his debut campaign after no pre-season at the club, but he found his form after the turn of the year.
The 28-year-old ended the season with 21 goals to his name and could fare better next term, having adapted to the league's intensity.
In recent weeks, it has been claimed that Gyokeres could possibly leave Arsenal in a player-plus-cash deal for Atletico's Julian Alvarez.
However, Arteta was in no mood to hear such speculation and when asked about the striker's future after the Girona friendly, he said:
'Yes, he is going to stay with us'.
Gyokeres and Kai Havertz are the regular strikers for the Gunners. Gabriel Jesus looks certain to leave before the transfer window closes.
