Mavuba may leave Villarreal

Mavuba may leave Villarreal

18 October 2007 - 21:21

Rio Antonio Mavuba could be set to leave Villarreal. Mavuba only arrived at the club this summer from Bordeaux, where he had become a key midfielder over the past four seasons. However, he is very unhappy with the amount of gametime he has had this year.

  • Chelsea to make approach for Morgan Rogers?
  • Man Utd think they can beat Man City to £100m star
  • "When I arrived at Villarreal, I expected to play more matches than I've been able to so far," he grumbled.

"I really want to play. I need to do so; if I don't, then I'll talk to the coach and the club in order to find a solution.

"I'm not obssessed over it, but I do need to know how things are going."

Mavuba has only played 125 minutes of UEFA Cup football.

"It's difficult to have endured seven matchdays of the Liga without having played at all, only doing so in the UEFA Cup," he continued.

"I really want to play and this is a very difficult time for me."
