Manchester United are expected to make a big decision over Michael Carrick's future in the next few days.
The Red Devils failed to return to winning ways in the Premier League after a thrilling 4-4 draw against Aston Villa at Old Trafford.
United looked dead and buried, trailing 4-2 in stoppage time, but they made a stunning comeback to share the spoils against Villa.
Despite the result, Carrick's position at the helm remains under immense scrutiny and a decision over his future will be made soon.
With the second international break underway tomorrow, United have time on their hands to pursue a new manager to replace Carrick.
The hierarchy will hold a crunch meeting in the next 24 to 48 hours before deciding whether to keep Carrick or find a replacement.
The club have no standout targets to succeed Carrick at the moment, but have been linked with Eddie Howe for some period of time.
They could approach for his services if Carrick is sacked.
