Everton sign Steven Pienaar

Everton have completed the signing of midfielder Steven Pienaar on loan for the rest of the season. The 29 year old rejoins his former club, who he left over a year ago for Tottenham. At Spurs the South African fell out of favour and failed to force his way into the first team.

Everton were busy on transfer deadline day, as Louis Saha left to join Tottenham and Nikica Jelavic signed for the Toffees; meanwhile the signing of the day for Toffees fans will be the arrival of former hero Pienaar, who left for White Hart Lane in a 3 million deal over a year ago.<br />

A loss of form and injuries kept Pienaar on the sidelines for most of the season, and a move away from the club has been confirmed by Spurs manager Redknapp.
