Arsenal midfielder Wilshere sustains new fracture

Arsenal midfielder Wilshere sustains new fracture

01 February 2012 - 13:15

Arsenal and England international midfielder Jack Wilshere's planned recovery will take longer than first hoped, as the club's medical team revealed that the midfielder has sustained a new fracture in his foot, but the injury is to a different area of his ankle than the original problem.

  • Chelsea agree deal to sign Argentine star
  • Man City enter race to sign £80m Arsenal target
  • Wilshere has yet to appear this year for the Gunners; and there appears to be some concern that he will be out for the remainder of the season. That would severely jeapordise his chances of an appearance for England at Euro 2012 this summer.

Arsenal still remain hopeful that the midfielder will recover in time to play for the Gunners this year, and Arsene Wenger is expected to announce how long Wilshere faces on the sidelines.
