Gignac turned down Everton move

Gignac turned down Everton move

03 February 2012 - 06:07

Marseille striker Andre Pierre-Gignac has revealed that he turned down a move to Everton on transfer deadline day. The French international forward has fallen out of favour at the Stade Velodrome, and has been persistently linked with a move to England.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • Gignac has sensationally revealed that Everton were in the race for his signature on transfer deadline day, but the striker turned down the Toffees as he feels he has much to prove at L'OM.

"Everton is a top club in England but for me Marseille is bigger and more attractive,’ Gignac said.

"I want to play one day abroad but at a bigger club like the Manchester Uniteds of this world.

"I do want to make a name for myself at Marseille. I love the club."
