Villas-Boas accepts Chelsea blame

23 February 2012 - 16:47

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas today took the blame for the club's recent poor form, admitting that he has struggled to rescue the Blues' poor season after the 3-1 defeat to Napoli in the Champions League.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Villas-Boas said: "Players don't have to take responsibility - and they shouldn't have to take it.<br />

"They are top players and they know what they can do. But there is only one person responsible - which is me.<br />

"The objective is to limit the damage and to get fourth position, maybe third eventually.<br />"If Arsenal win at Tottenham and we win, we are only seven points behind with one game against them [Tottenham] to play."
