Swansea want to keep Gylfi Sigurdsson

19 March 2012 - 04:46

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers wants to keep on loan midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson at the club. The playmaker scored two goals at the weekend in a 3-0 victory over Fulham, but is expected to return to Hoffenheim in the summer.

 • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
 • Man Utd can finally sign Ederson for huge bargain fee
 • Sigurdsson is very highly rated by Hoffenheim, but failed to make the cut with their current coach and was allowed to move to the Premier League with Swansea.
Rodgers will be given a 15m transfer budget should Swansea secure Premier League survival, and Sigurdsson is at the very top of the manager's shopping list.
"We have spoken to his agent and I've made the chairman aware of my feelings but, ultimately, it's whether Hoffenheim want to sell him," Brendan Rodgers said.
"We needed a goal-scoring midfielder and he has fitted in well with this group of players."
