Di Matteo chasing Chelsea top four spot

22 March 2012 - 14:59

Despite Chelsea slumping to a 2-1 defeat to Premier League rivals Manchester City last night, interim manager Roberto Di Matteo thinks that his club can steal challenge for a top four spot, and subsequently secure Champions League qualification.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • The Blues are currently in fifth place with 9 games to go, but the Italian manager is certain they can edge their way into the top four.

"Are we confident of making the Champions League? Absolutely," di Matteo said. "We still believe and we still have confidence we can make it.

"We'd like to finish at least fourth. We will try to do that. If we can manage anything better, then that is a bonus."
