Paris St Germain miss golden Ligue opportunity

16 April 2012 - 06:28

Paris St. Germain last night missed a golden opportunity to go top of Ligue 1, as they conceded an 86th minute equaliser to Auxerre. Montpellier remain in first place, but PSG will rue their luck as their league rivals slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Lorient earlier in the day.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Montpellier have been on a good run of form as they won three games on the spin, but were unable to keep that up as they slipped to defeat against Lorient.

Henri Bedimo's own goal gave Lorient an early lead, whilst Arsenal loanee Joel Campbell doubled the score a little later on. Montpellier's star striker, Olivier Giroud, scored a consolation but the league leaders were unable to grab a point.

At Paris St Germain, Nene had put the capital side in front but former Liverpool striker Anthony Le Tallec scored a leveller late on to take a share of the spoils.
